Celebrating the life of
Jeanne Leonard Brock
November 27, 1930 - February 07, 2012
SAVANNAH – Jeanne Claire Leonard Brock, 81, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at her home.
Born November 27, 1930 in Queens, NY Jeanne was always a lady, a very busy lady, always travelling. She was a lover of life: an avid reader and world traveler. Her bags were always packed and waiting for her next venture.
She belonged to many organizations including the Red Hat Society, the Daughters of Ireland, and Generation One, and served on the board of Smart Seniors. She served as President of the Board of Directors of the Abercorn YMCA, Secretary for the Gulfstream Retirees, and Secretary for the Hidden Lakes Homeowners Association. She also served on the board of election poll workers for the past two years.
Always conscious of physical fitness she worked out three times a week and bowled every Wednesday with the Gulfstream Retirees Bowling Team. She had friends over for lunch monthly, and played cards three or four times a week with neighbors. She met service personnel going and coming from Iraq and met with visitors to Savannah at conventions at the Trade Center, giving out information on Savannah.
If there was something in life she missed she did not know it. She did it all.
She was not just a mother to her children, she was their friend. She gushed over her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When she was with friends she smiled with delight over the 50 new pictures she had for them to see. She felt they should be as excited as she, and you know what, they were. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Joseph Brock, Sr. and a son, Michael John Brock.
Surviving are her children, William Joseph Brock, Jr. Robert, Suzanne Brock Graham Ronnie, Joyce Ann Clark Freddie, and Linda Jeanne Ratliff Todd; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with a Vigil Service at 5:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2012 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Burial to follow in the Catholic Cemetery.

We never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to be a part in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint on our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love'. - Quote by Leo Buscagilla All of us here at SmartSenior have Jeanne's family in our thoughts and prayers. We were all better off for having known her. Her positive attitude and infectous laugh made her a joy to be around. The staff and her fellow board members at SmartSenior will miss her input, her outlook on life and the contributions that she made to the SmartSenior program. Peace, prayers and blessings. I would just like to say what a truley remarkable and BEAUTIFUL woman Jeanne was, inside and out. She always had a smile on her face and was kind to everyone. I spent time around her when I was young with Joy and then had the privilege of knowing her all over again in my adult years. As long as I would bring back her plate, she'd make my husband another Pound cake. She will be greatly missed and dearly remembered! My deepest condolences to all.
